Sunny Mead Care Home

client: Cedar Care Homes

Residential

Optimum have worked with Cedar Care Homes on numerous projects over the years and for whom we proudly supported during the height of COVID-19, by supplying PPE to their HQ which was then distributed across their homes. Later in 2020, we were appointed as the lead & principal contractor with our longstanding and valued client for Sunny Mead Care Home.

Throughout the construction and refurbishment of this 60-bed care home project, we were presented with expected challenges over like many working throughout the industry during the global pandemic. However, our experienced workforce across all service arms of the business delivered fantastic results by working alongside suppliers and other specialist subcontractors.

Sunny Mead was our first project under the business’ new & exciting Main Contracting banner, it not only provided fantastic learnings but was also an excellent location for Optimum that has created something of real benefit to the local community, both in terms of generating employment during the construction phase and offering specialist nursing care now handed over to long standing clients, Cedar Care Homes. We are delighted that now completed and residents are settling in, they will receive the best of the best care from Cedar’s service, nursing and high quality accommodation for many local people for years to come.”

The state-of-the-art atrium lights up the centre of the three-story timber main building structure as well as its corridors with a whole new additional block being added to original care home architecture. The back of the residential homes are now surrounded by calming gardens which include water features, secluded areas and plenty of seating.

“Having worked with Simon & the Optimum team on a number of our Care homes, predominantly drylining and decorating packages, over the past 10 years it seemed a natural choice to entrust them with the Principal Contractor role at Sunny Mead, which was completed in October 2021.
We are delighted with the end result, as are our residents whom have now settled in. Naturally we felt more than comfortable to give Optimum the go-ahead to commence the Almondsbury care home as we are confident that with their involvement, we will be ready for residents in the latter part of 2022”– Ash Desai, Cedar Care Home CEO

Our Drywall team delivered all the drylining works including the partitions and ceiling contracts, Optimum Fire Stopping then carried out the passive fire protection – batt and mastic works as well as ROCKWOOL UK fire barriers. and the Combined Services team wrapped up with all painting, decorating and finishing. A fantastic Optimum collaborative project.
